First Time Visiting Us
God sets an extravagant table of welcome, and there's always room for one more. When Jesus Christ is the common bond, all the differences between no longer have the power to divide us.
Some folks dress up, some folks don't. Some folks arrive early, some walk in late. Some folks come alone, some bring their whole clan. However you are, whoever you are, is a delight to God and a delight to us too.
Heights Christian Church (like our whole denomination) values the right of the individual to think deeply about their faith. We have no creed but Christ, so it's a privilege and a responsibility to push at the edges of what we believe.
"God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again." (John 3:17, The Message Version)
There are no accusing fingers here; we've all experienced more than our fair share of condemnation and hostility. Our church is a place where you, and those you love, are safe no matter what.
We observe the Lord's Supper weekly, and all are welcome at the invitation of Jesus.
Our Scriptures point us to God, and lay the foundation for how we serve the Kingdom of God.
Freedom of Belief
We believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and that Christians are free to follow their conscience as guided by scripture, prayer, and the Holy Spirit.
Ministry of the Believer
Both ministers and lay persons, lead in worship, service, and spiritual growth. A person's gender, sexualty or age are never a barrier to a person's ability to minister for the sake of the Gospel.
Openness of the Church
No matter the denomination we call home, we are all made ONE in Jesus Christ.
Baptism by Immersion
We practice Immersion Baptism, but accept the baptismal traditions of other believers.
Open and Affirming
In Christ Jesus, we are all called into the work of the Kingdom of God together. Heights Christian Church is an "Open and Affirming" congregation which means: no matter your race, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital status, or political leanings, all are welcome to the full privileges and responsibilities of membership.
